A small Cessna 172 aircraft tragically crashed near Los Banos on Tuesday evening, resulting in the death of the pilot. The plane took off from San Jose and was discovered approximately 70 miles southeast of the city, as confirmed by the Merced County Sheriff’s Office.

The sole occupant of the aircraft was found deceased at the crash site. Investigators from both the National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration are currently looking into the incident. As inquiries continue, officials have not yet released the pilot's identity.
